Hyundai Santa Fe
Hyundai has been going good with the small cars in any place but it hasn't got a fair enough response from the SUV department. This time, Hyundai has come up with Santa Fe which is an import like Outlander and X-Trail and it is thought of as a car that will be playing on same level as the other immediate competing cars.
Design and Style
Hyundai Santa Fe is not styled in the same way as other cars and even the Hyundai's own Latest iX35 crossover but the fluid and smooth shape that it has looks a bit contemporary. The selection of headlights for a SUV is not perfect as something aggressive and bold would have looked great however they have put up slim headlamps on the SUV. These headlamps sweep upwards in to the flanks. The grille isn't much impressive either and lacks the boldness and hardcore nature that looks nice on a SUV. The Grille is typical Hyundai grille which is built into a single piece bumper. The side is big and casts a picture that inside will be spacious as well. It is a class bigger than other off-road cars and feels out of place compared to other cars. The looks of the Santa Fe are sure not to disappoint you.
Interior
The interior styling, unlike the exterior is a bit disappointing. The shape of dashboard, the layout and the design of the switches look a bit out of place. The Air Conditioning vents look like a sail which is much similar to the gear lever. The faux wood is also a bit plastic which looks like another option available. However, apart from the dashboard, the quality of materials is messed up which really show a downfall in the standards of Hyundai. The standards of Hyundai have been nice with good quality materials used but this car really disappoints in this section.
Engine
Engine of Santa Fe is the biggest surprise with the 2.2 litre CRDi Motor which really takes the breath. The motor is offered in three different tunes that allow the car to get 150BHp to 194BHP easily. The Santa Fe is claiming to reach a peak torque of 44.4KGM from 1800RPM. Turbo lag is felt below the 1800RPM mark but the 1987kg SUV isn't suffering from it either. A quick shift from first to second gear with the help of a six-speed gearbox will allow you to hear the wheels break traction with a chirping sound. The engine overall is a remarkably refined engine and possible the strongest feature that the Hyundai Santa Fe has.
Ride and Handling
The steering of the Car does not have the sharpness of other competing cars but the soft suspension which it has gets the near two-tonne SUV rolling around a fair bit. The multi-link with the rear provides a good job by combining with anti-roll bars which iron out bumps and make ride plain and comfortable.
Safety Features
Santa Fe can be the Hyundai SUV that Hyundai has been struggling for since a very long time. It has all the necessary engine power to be classed as a SUV apart from the fact that its looks are a bit dull considering it like a SUV. The safety features in the car include Wheel ABS, Seat Airbags, Child Anchors, Fog Lights, Seat Belts, EBD, as well as Tire Pressure monitoring.
